Tags hat Needles & yarn Needle US 8 - 5.0 mm Yarn Plymouth Yarn Encore Tweed Colorway 1237 Color family Gray Purchased at Borealis Yarns in St. Paul, Minnesota Yarn Plymouth Yarn Encore Tweed Colorway 0599 Color family Brown Purchased at Borealis Yarns in St. Paul, Minnesota Notes 1.22.13 OK, OVER ALL THE HAT WAS TO BIG FOR ANYONES HEAD, I think I will use a different size needles next go round, and then I bound off way to tight for anyone to wear the thing, so I am starting over completely, and I think taking out part of the pattern to make it less huge! 7/9/10 I finished the “public side” of the hat yesterday, I changed the decreases, to something more pleasing to my eye, I split the stitched on 4 dpn’s, then knit 2 tog, k middle stiches, ssk, on each of the 4 needles around until I had 8 left on the needles and finished the way the directions asked. It turned out great! It just seems rather big, so I hope one I sew the two sides together it fits my grandpa’s head. 6/27/10 Well I screwed up the first “public” side chart. I hate reading Charts! Actually I think I got ofF on one round and it has screwed everything up and since I want this hat to look really good for my Grandpa’s Christmas Present this year, I think I may actually rip back an start over! I hate ripping back more than I dislike reading charts! But I love this yarn, that hat is going to be so warm and soft, I know my Grandpa will enjoy wearing it and get a huge kick out of the dot so public side!!!
