Knit-a-Square.com, which asks knitters and crocheters around the world to help provide warmth to South African orphans. Knit-a-Square is a nonprofit organization that began in October 2008 and provides blankets for children orphaned by the HIV/AIDS epidemic and extreme poverty in South Africa.The organization works in association with Hotel Hope, a charity that provides food, shelter and love to children infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS.

If you are in the Minneapolis area this weekend (Feb 14-15), come join me and a zillion other knitters and crocheters at the Mall of America for this year's big Knit-Out and Crochet 2009, sponsored by the Craft Yarn Council of America. Some of the biggest names in yarnland will be there and I'll be interviewing them and blogging live from the Mall for next week's posts! The Knit-Out and Crochet event promises to be tons of fun!
