House Scarf

Image
This was a fun little knitting project for the House Cup on Ravelry. The Scarf got a bit long and I began to get boared, but being poor and not haveing enough money to buy more yar, gave my House Scarf some originality, I simply switched the color order half way thru so I wouldnt run our to red yarn! Then I order a great Gryfindor patch from Alvins and hand stitched it on myself! Hint use a deflated balloon to pull that needle thru the tough material, it works wonders! House Scarf pictured with my newly aquired wand, also from Alvins and the house fingerless mitts I made last term!

Unhinged from Reality

Image
By Peter Ferrara on 9.16.09 @ 6:08AM President Obama told the nation last Wednesday night: Some of people's concerns have grown out of bogus claims spread by those whose only agenda is to kill reform at any cost. The best example is the claim made not just by radio and cable talk show hosts, but by prominent politicians, that we plan to set up panels of bureaucrats with the power to kill off senior citizens. Now such a charge would be laughable if it weren't so cynical and irresponsible. It's a lie, plain and simple. The prominent politician who first complained about the death panels in the Obama health plan was Sarah Palin. Later on CNN, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was asked, "You pull out the dictionary, and the person who tells a lie is a liar. Does the President think Sarah Palin is a liar?" Gibbs answered: I think that for whatever reason despite many media outlets saying what Sarah Palin said was untrue, she continued to say it. I'll let We

The "New" Knitting Needle of the Month Club We had so much fun with the 2008 -2009 Needle of the Month Club that we have decided to start a new, slightly different, club! I think many of you will be very pleased with this new offering! It was exciting and challenging last year to try new “exotic” woods to present to the club members. But now Sam has chosen his favorite woods to work with and I have chosen my favorite needles to use! We are now presenting them to you on this web site. Our new Needle of the Month Club is this: * You pick the wood * You pick the length * You pick the sizes * You pick the duration. You may have all one wood or we will also send out Sam’s choice of needles for the month to those of you who were not able to join 2008 - 2009 NOM club, and would like to try new woods. (In other words, you won’t know what wood or size, you will be receiving until it actually shows up in your mail box!) * The sizes will be between Size 4 through size 11. * We will be o

Matthews Dragonroo

I made the cute purple dragon for a friends baby shower, my brother Matthew saw it and loved it, but for some reason I don't really understand he thought it all so looked like a kangaroo. So he aksed me to make him a Bright Blue DragonRoo. Here he is, quite cute! I added Penelope the Purple Pachyderm to show off his little pouch!

I pledge to never let my children go to crazy public schools

I Pledge to Promote Global Warming Propaganda By Paul Chesser on 9.8.09 @ 6:07AM Is there anything funnier to most high school kids than farts? Discomfiting noises accompanied by tear-inducing odors -- nothing induces teen hysterics more easily than flatulence. So you have to admire the simple genius of the recently formed Alliance for Climate Education, which has concocted an appealing formula to reach youth for their cause: 1. School assemblies that get them out of class; 2. Twenty-something educators articulate in teen-speak; 3. Hip, amusing animation; 4. Farts. How does it work? You can learn a lot by watching ACE's trailer -- steeped in global warming alarmism -- which includes representative segments of their presentation. ACE promises a "high school assembly experience that will activate, educate, inspire, your school to create a future safe from climate change." The group has enlisted a battalion of "educators" to fan out (so far) into schools across fi

http://www.thesixweekboutique.bigcartel.com/product/motorcycle-cross-stitch-kit-click-here-for-details $25.00| Collection | the saturday night girls By all accounts, Dulcie wasn’t always a Saturday Night Girl. With a penchant for wearing herringbone trousers and riding motorcycles, she spent her Saturday evenings at the dance halls. Dulcie had heard of The Saturday Night Girls but felt it no place for an exciting type such as herself. This was a club for conversation and a place to enjoy tea and cake whilst practising one’s needlework skills. Although, having never been part of a real girls club and not one to miss out on anything she decided to embrace the lady within, swapping her trousers for a needle and thread. Confidence rarely eluded Dulcie but when Saturday arrived and she entered the club, with poodle Clyde by her side, she found herself overcome with trepidation. Would she be accepted into the club? After all she wasn’t always a Saturday Night Girl. Are you?
